One Direction heartthrob Zayn Malik has revealed that he often 'catches the eye' of a pretty girl during a live performance and finds himself singing directly to her for part of a song.

Speaking to Bop magazine, the 'One Thing' superstar explained that he likes to connect with members of the audience while he's on stage because it adds a touch of intimacy to a set although if the girls are really attractive it can be a distraction:

"I can see a cute girl in the audience and get distracted by that. It’s nice to have someone who catches your eye in the audience and catches your attention, because then you can kind of sing to her and perform to her a little bit!"

On August 25, Malik showed his support for his girlfriend Perrie Edwards from Little Mix by tweeting a message about the girl group's performance on the game show 'Red or Black':

"Little mix were sick on red or black tonight ! The singles wiked man (not that I'm biased at all) Aha ! :) x"
