One Direction on course to beat Justin Bieber as MTV VMA vote nears end

One Direction are looking likely to win at least one MTV Video Music Award tonight (September 6).

The band are currently beating nearest rival Justin Bieber in the publicly voted Most Share-Worthy Video category.

At the time of writing, the Brits' 'What Makes You Beautiful' clip sits on 26,218,694 votes whilst Justin Bieber's 'Boyfriend' video lags behind with 25,223,703.

The ceremony takes place later at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, with One Direction also scheduled to perform.

The lads are also nominated in the Best New Artist and Best Pop Video categories.

As previously reported, the 'One Thing' stars have said that they think their MTV VMA performance will be one of their best ever shows.
