One Direction taken taken to Twitter to thank fans for their congratulations on their new single.

The popular boyband released the song 'Live While We're Young' and its accompanying video yesterday (September 20) four days early because it had leaked online.

The new material gained a relatively warm response and Niall Horan thanked fans after his band's headline slot at the iTunes Festival in London last night, tweeting:

"Thanks for the love for LWWY , we have worked hard on this album, hope u enjoy the rest of it."

'Live While We're Young' is still scheduled to be fully released on September 30 in the UK and a day later in the US and Canada.

It is due to come off their second album 'Take Me Home', which has been slated for a November 12 release.
