One Direction are set to co-host a day of programmes on BBC Radio 1.

The band are headlining the Radio 1 Teen Awards on October 7 but they will help host the UK radio station the day before (October 6).

Each member of the band will team up with one of Radio 1's hosts to help out and experience broadcasting first hand.

Liam Payne will join Gemma Cairney between 8am and 10am, with Zayn Malik co-hosting with Scott Mills at midday.

Niall Horan will host with Huw Stephens whilst Louis Tomlinson will team up with Greg James.

New Breakfast Show host Nick Grimshaw - who announced the news today (September 26) - will co-host with friend Harry Styles.
