One Direction's Louis Tomlinson talks charity football game

One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has talked about his upcoming charity football match.

The 'One Thing' singer has organised a game between his local team Doncaster Rovers and amateurs Three Horsehoes, who he helps fund.

The game is due take place on October 22 at Doncaster's Keepmoat Stadium and Tomlinson, who is a defender, will take to the pitch too.

In an interview with Doncaster Rovers, the singer said that he wanted to organise the game to do his bit for charity. He said:

"I'm very lucky to be in the position that I am, and I thought, 'What would be the best way to [have] others benefit from what I'm experiencing at the moment?'. Obviously it's always great to do things for charity, and as a band it's really important to us."

Tomlinson added that he hopes some of his One Direction bandmates will be in attendance at the match.

Proceeds from the game meanwhile will go to Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice.
