One Direction star Liam Payne has spoken about how his mother monitors his spending habits.

Although worth a reported £10 million the ‘Kiss You’ singer has been taught not to waste his money by his mother.

Talking to Top of the Pops magazine, Payne recounted how his mum helped him to save money when looking to buy a fancy dress costume.

The One Direction member recalled: “I got dressed up as Batman for my sister Nicole’s 21st birthday. I wanted to spend loads of money on my outfit and saw one online for £500, but my mum said I was mad.”

He added: “So I settled for one that was just £50 in the end.”

Liam Payne also recently revealed that he used to write letters to the tooth fairy as a child.

Earlier this month One Direction announced a 2014 world tour and will release a 3D movie in August.
