One Direction's Liam Payne says perfume was inspired by fan petition

One Direction have revealed that their newly announced perfume was conceived due to a petition created by an enterprising fan.

As previously reported, the boyband launched their first ever fragrance on Thursday (June 6) called One Moment.

Speaking at a press event to promote the scent's arrival, Liam Payne admitted that a fan petition encouraging the group to release a perfume sparked the idea of creating a scent. He said:

"A Twitter fan started an online petition for us to launch a fragrance, and we talked to our management."

Stating what was in One Moment, Louis Tomlinson exclaimed:

"What's in it...grapefruit, redcurrant, what else... ooh! Wild berries!"

The perfume will go on sale at Harrods, London from August 25 for two weeks before going out across the country.

The price of the scent will start from £21 for 30ml.
