One Direction lend their support to ONE poverty campaign

One Direction have shown their support for the charity ONE.

The project, which was co-founded by U2 singer Bono, aims to help eradicate extreme poverty across the world.

The boyband filmed a short promo clip for the charity to encourage fans to visit their website and help the cause.

A blurb on ONE's website reads: "ONE is a grassroots advocacy and campaigning organisation that fights extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa, by raising public awareness and pressuring political leaders to support smart and effective policies and programs that are saving lives, helping to put kids in school and improving futures."

Ed Sheeran meanwhile filmed a cover of Bob Dylan's 'Masters of War' for the campaign as he delved into the genre of protest songs to encourage action and change.
