One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles has shared a photograph with his Instagram followers that shows the moment he met some policemen from the NYPD, who he described as "nice".

The 'Little Things' hitmaker wore one of the officers' hats for the occasion (pictured below) as they all grinned into the camera and the sexy shot prompted hundreds of fans to ask Styles to 'arrest' them.

While online, Styles also took the time to thank former 'X Factor' mentor and music mogul Simon Cowell for praising the lads' forthcoming new music video for 'Best Song Ever' as "their best video ever" and wrote to him: "@SimonCowell glad you like it. @benwinston smashed it again."

Cowell originally tweeted (July 1): "Hi. A lot has happened in two days...The new one d video for best song ever is their best video ever, these boys are very very smart."
