One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson has told fans to expect their next single to follow the sound of their latest track.

The boyband recently unleashed 'Best Song Ever' as their new single and the group previously said in an interview that they felt the tune was "heavier" than their usual output.

Whilst the identity of One Direction's next single is a secret, Louis Tomlinson told Nova FM that the style of the track will probably be in the vein of their last song. He said:

"It could go a few ways. But the sound will be along the same lines as Best Song Ever".

'Best Song Ever' meanwhile failed to hit No.1 this weekend on the UK singles chart, with Swedish producer and DJ Avicii reigning supreme instead.

One Direction have had three songs hit the top spot in the UK - 'What Makes You Beautiful', 'Little Things' and 'One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks)'.
