One Direction have revealed their delight at meeting David Beckham.

The British-Irish boyband were playing at Los Angeles' Staples Center on Wednesday night (August 7) and the former footballer was in attendance.

Niall Horan revealed on Twitter that the group got a chance to meet Beckham backstage, who was "so nice". He said:

"Met our footballing hero ! Mr David beckham! He brought the boys and his little girl to see us! What a Nice Man! So courteous!"

One Direction's fitness man Mark Jarvis meanwhile uploaded a photo of himself and Beckham on his personal Twitter account, which can be seen below.

The boyband meanwhile are due to play another three consecutive shows at the Staples Center as they round off the North America leg of their Take Me Home tour.
