Louis Tomlinson has slammed a "disgusting" newspaper report about his mother, declaring he will never work with them for as long as his career continues.

British newspaper the Mirror published an article today claiming Tomlinson's mother Johannah 'Jay' Tomlinson, 40, acted upon her relationship with fiancé Daniel Deakin, 30, as his then-wife Elaine’s pregnancy ended in heartbreak in 2011.

The publication has accused Tomlinson's mother of abusing her position as a midwife and setting up home with Daniel shortly after his former partner Elaine delivered their stillborn baby.

When approached by the Mirror yesterday (August 9) Jay rubbished the claims, asserting: “No, I did not deliver the baby. I was a midwife. There were 17 midwives there. I don’t want to talk about it – so we’ll leave it at that!”

One Direction star Tomlinson has taken to Twitter to slam the story and defend his mom.

He declared: "I am appalled by what The Mirror has done to my family. It's disgusting and immoral. #f*ckyouthemirror. As long as I am in One Direction we won't be working with the mirror (sic)."

After tweeting his annoyance at the article, many of Tomlinson's fans spoke up in support of the singer.

While one wrote: "That article shouldn't have been published, wether someone's famous or not! Don't listen to them... We love you Louis! X," another posted: "when I read it I thought it was awful, it's disgusting what the media does (sic)."
