One Direction thank "great" US fans

One Direction stars Niall Horan and Liam Payne have thanked their American fan base for such a "great" leg of their world tour.

The chart-topping group - also comprising Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson - are wrapping up their Take Me Home tour in the US at the Staples Center in Los Angeles tonight (August 10).

Horan and Payne took to Twitter today to thank their fans across the pond for their support.

Horan wrote: "Tonight is the last night of the American tour, it has been a great tour! Deffo had a laugh!hope everyone who came to see us had fun! Xxx (sic)"

Payne added: "Cant believe its the last show tonight. I have loved every single bit of america. Thank you sooo much to everyone who came. Best fans everrr (sic)."

One Direction kick off their Australasia leg on September 23 in Adelaide, and Horan has joked that both he and Payne are gearing up to celebrate their 20th birthdays in style in the meantime.

He teased: "Also next time we do a show which will be in Australia, myself and @Real_Liam_Payne will be 20 ! Not teenagers anymore! Gona wreck the place (sic)."
