Liam Payne's rep confirms singer escaped "unhurt" from flat fire

A rep for One Direction star Liam Payne has confirmed that the singer is "unhurt" after a fire at his penthouse London home.

Firefighters today (September 3) stated that a fire broke out in a Canary Wharf balcony on Monday night (September 2), with the media reporting that the blaze took place at Payne's 34th floor apartment.

They said: "Firefighters worked quickly and professionally to get the fire under control as quickly as possible. About 30 people left the building before we arrived and were not injured. Two of the ­occupants had superficial burns to their hands and the third had burns to his hands and face. All three have been taken to hospital."

It has been reported that one of the victims was Payne's friend Andy Samuels, with his girlfriend taking to Twitter to state that he was in a stable condition.

A rep for Liam Payne has now confirmed that the singer was "unhurt" in the blaze.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
