One Direction have announced a seven-hour live event that will be streamed online.

The boyband will take part in 1D Day on November 23 and fans can watch via the internet.

They promise celebrity guests, "special features" and the chance for fans to interact and shape the event.

1D Day's blurb reads: "1D Day is an exciting opportunity for everyone everywhere to take part in a unique global event, providing an exclusive insight into the lives of One Direction - and the people around them. 1D Day will consist of a seven hour stream, filmed live from a television studio and comprising a whole host of special features, celebrity guests and content created by you."

To start off with, fans have been asked to come up with ideas for a new One Direction product, with more challenges planned in the future.

The band's third album 'Midnight Memories' meanwhile is due to be released on November 25.
