One Direction star pays tribute to dead Galway hurler Niall Donohue

One Direction's Niall Horan has offered his condolences after an Irish hurler passed away suddenly this week.

22-year-old Niall Donohue, who played for Kilbeacanty, died in his home on Wednesday (October 22) and it has shocked Irish sporting circles.

It has affected Mullingar man Horan too, who tweeted:

"Very sad news about niall donohue! Thoughts with donohue family."

One Direction meanwhile are due to finish their Australia and New Zealand Take Me Home tour soon and head to Japan at the start of November.

Their dates come as the group look ahead to the release of their new album 'Midnight Memories' on November 25.

The record will be preceded by the single 'Story of My Life' on Monday (October 28).
