One Direction win 2 AMAs: 'Our fans are incredible'

UK based boyband One Direction picked up two coveted American Music Awards last night (November 24) for Best Pop/Rock Album (for 'Take Me Home') and Favourite Band, Duo or Group Pop/Rock.

They beat the likes of Taylor Swift, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Imagine Dragons, and Justin Timberlake to both prizes and Irish heartthrob Niall Horan took to his official Twitter page following the band's success at the ceremony to tell his followers:

"What the hell just happened! 2 #AMAs! you guys are incredible, thank you so much! It's a great night for all of us! Fans, crew, everyone. And what a great way to end the night! Midnight memories is already out in some parts of the world! Enjoy!"

Other winners from the 2013 American Music Awards include Taylor Swift who won 4 titles (Artist of the Year, Favorite Country Female Artist, Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist, and Favorite Country Album for 'Red'), Justin Timberlake who took home 3 trophies (Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist, Favorite Soul/R&B Male Artist, and Favorite Soul/R&B Album for 'The 20/20 Experience'), and Maroon 5 who won the Favourite Artist Adult Contemporary.
