One Direction superstar Zayn Malik has revealed that he is always working to impress his fiancée Perrie Edwards despite now being engaged to be married.

Speaking to E! News, the heartthrob confessed that he still makes an effort to look good for Edwards because the fact that they're now engaged doesn't mean he can get away with slacking on his fitness or appearance:

"I do try to impress her still, I do try to do a bit of exercise. I don't want to completely let myself go."

Earlier this autumn, the Little Mix beauty told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper that she always wants to look her best for Malik and will go out of her way to make sure she looks great when they video chat: "Do you know what, I do have to make an effort with make-up when I'm talking to Zayn on Skype. It makes you feel better. But you only have to put a bit on and it looks really good."

"I try to find some good lighting too. Sometimes I tip the lamp so it looks like I appear airbrushed and I'm like, 'Oh, I've just woken up', but really I haven't! But I look flawless because of the make-up. Or I go to a window for some natural light sometimes... that's the best."
