One Direction reign supreme in most popular calendar list

One Direction have topped a list of the best selling calendars this year in the UK.

The boyband's 2014 effort has beaten Minecraft to be named the country's most popular calendar this year.

In third place on the list, which is compiled from sales figures of numerous UK retailers, is Doctor Who's anniversary calendar.

One Direction, however, are getting used to hitting No.1 on lists. Their new album 'Midnight Memories' has topped charts across the world in the last week.

They hit the top spot in their native UK, with the lads set to reach No.1 in the US too.

In fact, 'Midnight Memories' quickly become the UK's fastest selling album of the year as it beat Daft Punk's record of 165,000 first-week sales.

Its their third album, following on from 2012's 'Take Me Home' and the group's 2011 debut 'Up All Night'.
