One Direction top the UK's Official Record Store Chart

UK based boyband One Direction have finished at No.1 on the Official Record Store Chart this week with their new offering, 'Midnight Memories', it has been confirmed.

The 'Story Of My Life' heartthrobs' came in at the top spot on the exciting chart, which was launched as part of 2012's Record Store Day initiative, and it reflects sales made in the UK's independent record shops.

This Official Record Store Chart counts albums shifted from around 100 independent record retailers who participate in Record Store Day UK.

The heartthrobs managed to beat some tough competition from the likes of Robbie Williams, who charted at No.2 with 'Swings Both Ways', Eminem, who placed at 9 with 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2', and Olly Murs, who came in seventh with 'Right Place Right Time'.

Meanwhile, One Direction have managed to chart an incredible chart 14 times in Billboard's Top 200 Digital Songs list after releasing their new album, entitled 'Midnight Memories', towards the end of last month.
