One Direction rock SNL and call it an 'honour'

UK based boyband One Direction appeared on America's iconic 'Saturday Night Live' last night (December 7) and performed a couple of songs along with starring in a few skits on the show.

The lads treated viewers and the studio audience to renditions of 'Story Of My Life' and 'Through The Dark', and the heartthrobs then joined forces with 'Anchorman' actors Paul Rudd, Will Ferrell, David Koechner and Steve Carell to form supergroup 'Nine Direction', and they performed 'Afternoon Delight' together.

Member Niall Horan revealed his excitement at being back on the programme and tweeted a couple of photographs of himself posing with some of the other stars, including host Paul Rudd:

"What a super great guy! Pleasure to work with! Honour to meet! will never forget tonight!" He then shared a snapshot of himself with comedian and actor Will Ferrell, adding: "Here he is! The one and only! Will Ferrell!"

Their presence on 'SNL' has left quite an impression as it's still one of the top ten trending topics on Twitter this morning (December 8), with many of the group's fans praising their performance and collective comedic ability.
