An image of One Direction on the set of Sesame Street has emerged.

The boyband recently stopped by the popular US children's TV show and it seems they had a good time of it as they bonded with Big Bird.

They are due to feature on an upcoming episode of the long-running programme, but no air date has yet been released.

The official Sesame Street Twitter account tweeted alongside a photo the text: "Guess who's 1D's "biggest" fan? (And thanks for visiting Sesame Street, @onedirection!)."

One Direction meanwhile are currently riding a wave of success following the release of their third album 'Midnight Memories'.

It hit No.1 in almost one hundred countries worldwide, including their native UK and the US.
