One Direction merchandise more popular than Xbox this Christmas

Britain's Royal Mail postal service recently conducted a survey to discover the most requested gifts among children in the UK this year and results have shown that One Direction merchandise is the more popular than the Xbox console.

The company analysed over 200,000 letters from kids across the UK and found that items relating directly to the boyband were mentioned more frequently than most other types of present, including games consoles such as Xbox One and toy brands like Furby. Surprisingly, the only thing able to outsell One Direction goods was Lego, which sits firmly in first place in Royal Mail's survey.

One Direction onesies, blankets and cycling helmets were particularly coveted by youngsters.

It's not only the consumer market that the boyband are dominating this year as it was just revealed that tickets for their upcoming 2014 world tour managed to outsell those for gigs by the Rolling Stones. The 'Story Of My Life' heartthrobs' perfume, 'Our Moment', has also been doing well in stores and has impressively sold at least five times as many bottles as other perfumes.
