One Direction star Harry Styles has admitted that he gets "so nervous" when talking to females.

The 19-year-old has become one of the world's most sought after heartthrobs since joining the group on the UK X Factor in 2010.

He is constantly linked in the media with different ladies but in a new clip from the band's This Is Is DVD, it seems Styles - and bandmate Liam Payne - still find it hard to talk to girls.

The singer can be seen lying on a boat discussing if they have changed since becoming famous. Payne responds by saying that he is more confident, but Styles says:

"I still get so nervous talking to girls."

Payne adds: "Mate - join the club. I just can't go over and talk to them."

Styles quips that his way of speaking to ladies is by throwing things at them.

One Direction's This Is Us film meanwhile is due to be released on DVD in the UK on Thursday (December 19).
