Paloma Faith: 'I think I'm probably the most punk person in music, so we're screwed'

Paloma Faith has suggested that she is the most "punk" star in mainstream music.

The singer spoke to Digital Spy in a new interview ahead of this week's Brit Awards.

When asked if the awards ceremony now lacks a sense of danger Faith replied:

"Everyone's too scared to say anything. The fact that I'm considered outspoken is bizarre to me, because I think I'm probably the most punk person in music, so we're absolutely screwed."

Speaking meanwhile about being the UK's top selling female in 2014, the singer said:

"It's shocking! If anything it's more shocking than if it was my first or second, because not many people are having careers like that anymore. I've slowly but surely been on an upwards trajectory with my career, and I feel like there are very few artists who are doing that anymore."

This year's Brit Awards are taking place on Wednesday (February 25) at London's O2 Arena, with Faith nominated in the British Female Solo Artist category.
