Paloma Faith wins Best British Female Solo Artist: 'I'm so moved'

Beauty Paloma Faith has just picked up a prize at tonight's BRIT Awards, which is currently taking place in London at the famed O2 Arena.

Best British Female Solo Artist was presented by Mark Ronson and the title went to songstress Paloma Faith, who beat FKA Twigs, Lily Allen, Jessie Ware, and Ella Henderson to the title. In her acceptance speech, Faith celebrated women and the amazing reception the public have shown her over the last decade:

"Wow. I'm so moved! It's been a long time coming and I'm a big fan of Tracey Emin (who designed this year's trophy) and of women all over the world... it has taken me 14 years to stand up here and accept this award. It means so much to me." She went onto thank her fans, adding: "People meet me with such kindness and they don't intimidate me, and they're so wonderful."

Faith recently spoke out about not being included in the nominees for British Album despite the fact that her latest album, 'A Perfect Contradiction', was the fifth biggest-selling record of 2014: "I was the only female in the top 10 selling albums. All the rest were men. I'm a bit miffed about the album category, but beggars can't be choosers and I am a beggar. I don't know why it isn't there."
