Paul McCartney cancels Japan tour due to ill health

Sir Paul McCartney has pulled out of a Japan tour after failing to recover from illness.

The Beatle had originally postponed two shows in Tokyo over the weekend as a result of a virus.

The Liverpudlian has now cancelled the remaining two dates in Japan after failing to get over the illness.

One of the dates affected was due to take place at the Nippon Budokan hall, which is where the Beatles played during their first Japan tour in 1966.

McCartney, however, is still scheduled to play in Seoul, South Korea on May 28 before travelling to the US.

The singer and musician commented: "Thank you so much for your kind messages of support.

"I'm so very touched. Unfortunately my condition has not improved overnight. I was really hoping that I'd be feeling better today. I'm so disappointed and sorry to be letting my fans down."
