Sir Paul McCartney defends Miley Cyrus VMA show: "We've seen worse than that"

Sir Paul McCartney has become the latest big star to comment on Miley Cyrus's controversial VMA performance.

The 'We Can't Stop' star turned heads in August by twerking provocatively at the awards ceremony with Robin Thicke.

Beatles legend McCartney told Sky News, however, that her performance wasn't too bad compared to some other shows that have taken place in the past. He said:

"I think it was only mildly shocking. So what? Come on, we've seen worse than that!"

The bassist and singer added: "You look at it and you say, 'What's everyone shouting about?'."

McCartney meanwhile released his latest album 'New' on Monday (October 14), with the record due to hit shelves in the US today (October 15).
