Paul Oakenfold told to leave his famous Big Brother theme song alone

Paul Oakenfold has revealed that he asked Big Brother executives if he could revamp the reality show's now iconic theme music and was told not to bother.

The DJ wanted to breathe new life into his famous track that opens the show, a new season of which is due to launch next week on Channel 5, but the idea wasn't supported and he told the Daily Star newspaper:

“I wanted to give it a remix but the station said to leave it as it is.”

The 47-year-old star also spoke briefly about his new album, 'Never Mind the Bollocks, here's Paul Oakenfold', and described it as more "cutting edge" than the music of his contemporaries:

“It’s more cutting edge than the commercial stuff that’s about at the moment.”
