Pete Doherty says The Libertines are 'getting on better than ever'

Pete Doherty has revealed that the reformed Libertines are getting on better than ever, as they prepare for their comeback gig at the 'British Summer Time In The Park' Festival in London's Hyde Park tonight (July 5).

The Libertines are the headline act and are sharing the main stage with The Pogues, Spiritualized, Maximo Park and The Enemy. Other acts peforming today (July 5) include Graham Coxon and I Am Kloot.

The band are infamous for their behind-the-scenes dramas as well as their indie hits, but now, Doherty has revealed that the band are closer than ever.

Speaking to the NME, Doherty says: "We're getting on better than we ever did. Even back in the day, The Libertines, in order for us to do it, it means you put everything else at risk, basically."

"I always use words like, 'Oh it's unfathomably great' or 'unspeakably great' but 'unspeakably great' would be the correct adjective now."

The Libertines will also play Lisbon, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Berlin and Dusseldorf this summer.
