Pete Doherty on his drug use: 'It's so regimented now, it's not even real chaos'

Babyshambles front man Pete Doherty has been discussing his drug use.

In an interview with Q magazine the ‘Time For Heroes’ troubadour claimed that his use of heroin does not disrupt his daily life.

Doherty explained: “We all have our foibles. I live a f***ing straight life. It's so regimented now, it's not even real chaos, my chaos. I'm very certain of what works and what and who I need to avoid.”

The ex-Libertine also defended football star George Best who struggled with alcoholism and died of organ failure in 2005.

Pete told Q: “He was also an incredible footballer. Oh, you can't just condemn people. We've gotta support each other, we're all in it together.”

When questioned about his lost potential after The Libertines drew early comparisons to The Smiths, the 34 year old rock star argued: “So what, I'm the failed Morrissey? Well, let them be inspired by that. Let them create an immortal piece of work. The one I didn't do.”

Babyshambles’ third album ‘Sequel To The Prequel’ will be released on September 2.
