Pharrell Williams celebrates his birthday with SpongeBob SquarePants themed party

Pharrelll Williams threw a cartoon-themed party last night (April 4) in New York to celebrate his birthday.

The ‘Happy’ hitmaker – who turns 41 today (April 5) – made the Nickelodeon show SpongeBob SqaurePants the theme of his birthday bash.

Cipriani on Wall Street was transformed into the underwater cartoon’s setting of Bikini Bottom.

The 'Get Lucky' singer was presented with a large birthday cake shaped like a Krabby Patty burger with the characters SpongeBob and Patrick Starfish perched on top, and the latter sporting Williams’ signature Vivienne Westwood hat.

Guests at the event, who were greeted by a yellow carpet entrance, included Alicia Keys and her husband Swizz Beatz, the rapper Q-Tip, model Chanel Iman, photographer Terry Richardson and Williams’ wife Helen Lasichanh, as well as life-size SpongeBob SquarePants characters.

Pharrell Williams’ recently announced that he is set to join the coaching panel of 'The Voice'.
