Pharrell Williams on collaborating with other creative industries: 'I only work with the masters'

'Happy' superstar Pharrell Williams has revealed that he only wants to work with other companies who are considered to be at the top of their respective industries when he branches out into other business areas.

Speaking about how he decides which companies to work with, the superstar admitted that he only wants to collaborate with true 'masters' and is very picky about who he joins forces with: "When I do a collaboration with brands, I do them with notable masters, so that I can experience the true purpose of collaboration, which is to learn. So I only work with masters."

Williams, who is set to release a unisex fragrance 'Girl' with Comme des Garçons, added to Women's Wear Daily that he wants to work with the best because he knows he will learn the most from the experiences he has with them:

"I work with all the masters because it allows me a crash-course into not only who they are as people, but into their art from, and their craft. So that's pretty cool."

Earlier this month, Williams confirmed details of a European tour that will kick off on September 9 at the Phones4U Arena in Manchester and will also include a date at London's O2 Arena on October 9. Tickets are on sale now.
