Pharrell Williams: 'I wrote 'Come Get It Bae' for a female singer'

Producer and singer Pharrell Williams' new song 'Come Get It Bae' was written by him for a female singer.

The track has been released as a duet that features vocals from Miley Cyrus, but the 'Happy' superstar confessed to Ryan Seacrest that he penned it with the intention of it being recorded by a woman as it's from a woman's perspective:

"'Come Get It’ I actually wrote for a girl... So it’s written from a woman’s perspective. And I just decided to re-record it myself. It’s funny because there’s another song on my album that is actually written from the perspective of a woman as well, and that’s called ‘Hunter.’”

Williams, meanwhile, recently announced details of a European tour and will perform live in England later this year with his first date taking place on September 9 at the Phones 4 U Arena in Manchester. He will also hold concerts in London at the O2 Arena on October 9 and 10 respectively.
