Pharrell Williams: 'Women are at the centre of humanity'

Hitmaker Pharrell Williams has revealed that he believes women are at 'the centre of humanity' and inspired him to name his latest album 'G I R L' with their strength and reproductive abilities.

The 'Happy' superstar, who has a 5-year-old son named Rocket, explained to Britain's Telegraph newspaper that the power women have is unrivalled and he wanted to pay homage to them with the release of his most recent record:

"I wanted to give back to a demographic that has just been giving to me for over 20 years. Which is women. I have male fans, too. But the women, they never left my side."

"The real truth of the matter is that no human being can be created without going through the conduit of a woman's body. Men don't make eggs. We contribute to them. Nor can we give birth. So women are at the centre of humanity, and they need to be treated as such."
