Pharrell's 'Happy' named UK's best-selling single of 2014 so far

Pharrell Williams' hit track 'Happy' is the top selling single in the UK of the year so far.

The song, which was originally released in 2013, has sold 1.42 million units in 2014 already.

The Official Charts Company confirmed today (October 1) that it has sold over 300,000 copies more than its nearest competitor on the list, Clean Bandit's 'Rather Be'.

That track, which topped the singles chart in January, has sold 1.1 million units this year.

The third top seller in 2014 is John Legend's 'All Of Me' with sales of 885,000, whilst Mr. Probz's 'Waves' and Pitbull's 'Timber' rounds off the top five.

Other highly-places names on the list include Ella Henderson ('Ghost'), Sam Smith ('Stay With Me') and Route 94 ('My Love').
