Pharrell Williams on waxwork figure: 'It's so spooky to stand next to it'

Hitmaker Pharrell Williams attended an unveiling ceremony of a waxwork likeness of himself at Madame Tussauds in New York City yesterday (April 1) and revealed that it was so odd to stand next to the creation.

Speaking to ET Online, the producer and superstar admitted that it was very strange to stand next to the figure and he found it a bit creepy: "I have to say, being here and standing anywhere near it is kind of spooky."

The 'Blurred Lines' sensation went onto add that he never thought he would be immortalised by a waxwork: "If you go back to the GRAMMYs 2014 and if you asked me that day: 'You going to do Madame Tussauds?' I'd be like, 'No, of course not'."

Earlier this month, meanwhile, Williams told Germany's GQ magazine that finding his own sound has been crucial in developing his brand: "I think you have to create something new. You can't just copy the style of others. If I would sing Jay Z's lyrics, I would sound braggy, while he inspires people with his songs. Everybody has to find their own style."
