Plan B describes struggle of making first film

Plan B has revealed how he initially struggled to convince the crew of directorial debut, 'iLL Manors,' of his film-making credentials.

The British rapper, whose semi-autobiographical tale of crime and violence in London will hit cinemas on June 6, told the Hollywood Reporter that he was met with a rather sceptical reception during the early stages of shooting:

"When I started, the crew were mostly like, 'what the f--- is this popstar doing making a film.

“I had told them beforehand that I'd never done a film before and made that clear and they all said, 'Oh we'll look after you, we're here to help.' And then the first day of the shoot I got that [attitude]. There wasn't really a good vibe on set."

The 28-year-old, who will also be seen in a remake of 1970s cult cop show, 'The Sweeney,' later this year, went onto confess that his approach to the production was rather unorthodox:

"I wanted to make a guerilla film. I said we can just go out and jump out and nick shit (with the camera) when we see it. Don't ask.

“But my director of photographer was very cautious and careful. Fair play to him but that's not the way I wanted to do it."
