Queen and Adam Lambert have confirmed a number of Australia shows due to take place later this year.

The veteran British rockers and the vocal powerhouse had previously announced a slew of summer North America dates, as well as a few Asia shows.

They have now announced four Australia gigs set to take place in August and September.

The first date will take place at the Perth Arena on August 22 before the band travel to Sydney's Allphones Arena on August 26.

Queen and Lambert will then perform at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on August 29 ahead of the tour's final date on September 1 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

Tickets for the dates, which mark Queen's first tour of Australia since 1985, will go on general sale from May 28.
