Queen's Brian May lends 3D photographs to Tate museum collection

Queen star Brian May is due to give the Tate Britain museum a series of 3D photographs from his collection for a new exhibition.

The London establishment is set to host the Poor Man's Picture Gallery exhibition from October 13 to April 12.

May, an avid collector of stereoscopic 3D photographs, is giving the collection - which focuses on pictures made in the 1800s - twenty six images.

The pieces are made with two photos and become 3D when viewed through a special viewer.

May has made his own device to view the photographs.

The guitarist said that he became interested in the images after seeing 3D gifts that used to come with cereal boxes.
