Queen's Roger Taylor glad Band Aid are beating Take That on singles chart

Queen drummer Roger Taylor is "very glad" that the new Band Aid single is trumping Take That.

The UK singles chart's midweek update revealed on Wednesday (November 26) that the latest reincarnation of charity tune 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' is still No.1.

It is keeping Take That's comeback single 'These Days' at bay and Taylor, who performed on the Band Aid 30 song, told Loose Women that he is pleased at the news.

The Brit said: "I think Bob [Geldof] has done a great thing. I very glad it's number 1 again and kept Take That out of the way."

Queen meanwhile are due to perform on the X Factor this weekend with singer Adam Lambert.

They will play on the show's Sunday (November 30) night episode.
