Queen and Adam Lambert to perform New Year's Eve London gig for BBC One

Queen and Adam Lambert will usher in the New Year with a concert in London.

The iconic rockers will perform at the Westminster Central Hall in the UK capital on December 31 for BBC One.

The show is called Queen + Adam Lambert Rock Big Ben Live and it will take place before and after the bells.

Tickets for the 2000 capacity show will go on sale from midday on December 2.

Speaking about the event, drummer Roger Taylor commented: "I never imagined we would be around to usher in the year of 2015, what a thrill! We promise you a great night."

Singer Lambert said: "Words can’t describe how excited I am, we are going to kick off 2015 in style!"

The news follows Queen and Adam Lambert's slot on the X Factor on Sunday (November 30).

Last year’s New Year’s Eve show on BBC One featured Gary Barlow and the celebrations were watched by a peak of almost 14 million people between 11.15pm and 12.30am.
