Queen drummer Roger Taylor says he calls Adam Lambert 'Camp Elvis' for fun.

The US singer is currently fronting the British rock group as they enjoy their late resurgence.

Speaking to the Sunday Telegraph, Taylor said that he finds the vocalist akin to Elvis Presley when he hits the stage.

He said: "My nickname for him is Camp Elvis.

"His presence and charisma reminds me of Presley in so many ways, the look, the showmanship, the overtly sexual attitude."

Queen and Lambert meanwhile are scheduled to kick off their 2015 European tour in Newcastle tonight (January 13).

They are also due to due play other UK cities such as Glasgow and London.
