Queen to be given Classic Rock's Roll Of Honour Living Legend award

Queen will be honoured with a special prize at this year's Classic Rock Awards.

The band will pick up the Roll Of Honour Living Legend award at the London Roundhouse event on November 11.

The prize will pay tribute to Queen's long-lasting legacy in rock music.

Classic Rock Magazine editor Siân Llewellyn commented:

"I don’t think there could be a more perfect year for us to honour Queen with the Roll Of Honour’s headline award.

"Almost four decades to the day that one of rock’s defining songs made its phenomenal presence known, we get to celebrate the incredible, unparalleled career of the band that made it and who changed the world’s soundscape forever."

Queen are still going strong, with US vocalist Adam Lambert currently on singing duties.

They formed in 1970, with late singer Freddie Mercury leading the group with pizzazz.

Previous recipients of the award include Rush, Iggy Pop and Ozzy Osbourne.
