Queen have confirmed that their song 'We Are The Champions' was used by Donald Trump without their permission at this year's Republican National Convention.

The presidential candidate used the song at the event on Monday (July 18).

In June, guitarist Brian May said the band never gave Trump permission to use the song in TV spots.

The group have now tweeted that the track was used against their wishes at the convention.

They said: "An unauthorised use at the Republican Convention against our wishes - Queen."

Singer Adam Lambert, who has fronted the band in recent years, previously showed his upset on Twitter at Trump using the song.
