Flamboyant dance trio Le Grind would like to know – ‘I Was There (Where Were You?)’

Single plus remix packages to be released September 1st

A London based dance trio who have migrated there from a combination of New York and Southampton, Le Grind have combined to create off kilter, cheeky dance music with a sense of fun.

The flamboyant group will make their debut on September 1st with outlandish dance track ‘I Was There (Where Were You?)’:

The high concept song is narrated by a girl and a drag queen who try to out gossip each other, telling tales about the celebrities they'd met the night before at notorious night club Studio 54.

It seemed fitting that their debut should be about a chance meeting in a night club, as that is precisely where this unusual trio met. Dance producers Boo and Gareth Moss happened upon vocalist Reyna Lauren in a night club in Queens, New York – singing at the top of her lungs to a Prince track. Already looking for a singer, the pair knew then their search had ended. Fittingly, the newly formed trio decided to name themselves after a Prince song. Hence: Le Grind.

And now, having barely started out under their new name, the trio are already commanding some excellent reviews and notices, not to mention turning enough heads to convince none other than Marc Almond to appear in their video…holding a porn star wearing a wolfs mask on a diamante dog leash. In the band’s own words, sometimes ‘truth is stranger than fiction’.
