Chey follows up her debut with new pop-ballad ‘She’s Got You’Following up from her evocative debut release ‘Dirty Love’, released earlier this year, Welsh born singer-songwriter Chey is back with the new single ‘She’s Got You’. Continuing in the same power-ballad vein as her previous release, the new track is a fusion of disquieting electronica and contemporary pop, making for a truly absorbing listen. Watch the video for ‘She’s Got You’: She’s Got You’ tells the story of a man’s infidelity and a woman’s lost love. Speaking on the track, Chey says: “‘She’s Got You’ deals with the feelings of loss and rejection, losing someone can be a poignant moment in your life - it can also be the moment where you find your strength.” Chey takes the classic ballad form and reshapes it into a pop anthem; the blissful pop production merging with Chey’s haunting vocals are goose-bump inducing and the touching lyrics will stay with you long after the track has finished. Along with the single, ‘She’s Got You’ is accompanied by a remixed version of the track which transforms the smooth pop production into a high-energy dancefloor anthem. As with ‘Dirty Love’, renowned London producer David Ezra has produced and remixed the track, a professional who has worked in the past with X-Factor finalists Reggie and Bollie, who have earned over 4 million Youtube hits. ‘She’s Got You’ was also co-written with Texas born singer-songwriter, Tré Nation, who has collaborated with artists all over the globe for the past decade. In addition to the remix, ‘She’s Got You’ is joined by a compelling video, directed by Manchester based company Videoink, who have received critical acclaim from the likes of Sony Music, BBC 6 Music and 4 Music. Shot in an abandoned cotton mill in the heart of Manchester City Centre, once the backdrop to the UK’s biggest fashion and textile industry, there is a rawness and originality added to the ambience of Chey’s track through the visual storytelling of the video.
