Sandra Plamenats sheds new light on ‘O Sole Mio’

Fresh from touring with some of the biggest venues in the world, renowned Russian soprano Sandra Plamenats is getting ready to release her brand new interpretation of Neopolitan classic ‘O Sole Mio’ (My Sunshine).

Beginning singing at the tender age of two, Sandra was then handpicked from two hundred children for one of just twenty places in the most prestigious musical school in the country - Moscow State Conservatory, P.I Tchaikovsky - in order to perfect her vocal talent. Building on this solid foundation, Sandra has gone on to perform in operas and concerts alongside the soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre, and the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre in high profile concerts in places such as The Royal Concert Hall in Ostankino, TV Tower in Moscow, The Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory in Moscow, Milan, Bologna, Paris and a classical music festival 'Barski Ljetopis' in Bar, Montenegro.

‘O Sole Mio’ is a beautiful balance of immaculate soprano and accompanying orchestra (The South Ural Symphony Orchestra); which all climax in an amazing, very touching D (D6), a very rarely heard tone in the range of a dramatic soprano that will astound your ears.

“To opera I'm trying to bring some freshness, but keep it unordinary at the same time, it should be part of everyday life. I see each opera as a beautiful fairy-tale. When modernized, it shouldn't be simplified or lose its magic.”
