Rebecca Ferguson speaks about overcoming shyness
Rebecca Ferguson has revealed that she's had to become more assertive to make an impact in the music industry.
Whilst a contestant on the X Factor in 2010, Ferguson often appeared shy and somewhat scared of the spotlight.
However, speaking to the BBC, Ferguson has admitted that she does have an "assertive" side somewhere in her - and it's been coming out more often. She said:
"I am quite shy and very quiet, but I can be assertive when it comes to things I believe in. And I've found in this business you have to be quite assertive."
She also reckons that being a mother has helped her become more self-confident in her decision making. She added:
"Everything you do is for them, so when you're making your decisions you've got two other people to think about. I find that gives me the extra kick to stand up for myself."
