Rebecca Ferguson hits back at Zayn Malik relationship claim

Rebecca Ferguson has spoken out about former boyfriend Zayn Malik.

The One Direction star and soul singer started dating after appearing together on the X Factor in 2010 but it only lasted a few months.

Malik was recently quoted as saying that the relationship should "never have happened" and that it was never going to work.

Speaking to New! magazine, Ferguson questioned the honesty of Malik's remarks and suggested that he was "put up to it". She said:

"I was so shocked by what he said! I'm not going to retaliate. All I will say is that there have been a lot of things said and he knows so far that I've stayed classy and quiet and bitten my lip."

Ferguson continued: "I'm not one to reveal big secrets about what's gone on in a relationship, and I think he was probably put up to this. I know him too well to think he'd say it deliberately."
